5 Things To Know: 2022 NCAA Softball Blacksburg Regional

For the first time in program history, the Virginia Tech softball program will host NCAA regional games at Tech Softball Park this Friday-Sunday, May 20-22.

The Hokies are the tournament's No. 3 overall seed after going 41-7 and winning the ACC regular-season championship. Tech will host Saint Francis (Pa.), Kentucky and Miami (Ohio) as part of the Blacksburg Regional, with the winner of the double-elimination format advancing to the Super Regional round next weekend.

Single-session tickets are still available for $10, with limited games and quantities remaining.

Get up to speed with five things to know ahead of this weekend's Blacksburg Regional:

1. All tickets will be delivered digitally. Tech Softball Park will be a mobile-only venue as both all-session and single-session tickets will be delivered digitally. Ticket purchasers can access their tickets via the HokieSports mobile app or at HokieSports.com/MyAccount.

Fans with questions regarding their mobile tickets should visit Mobile Ticketing Central in advance or stop by the ticket office lobby at Lane Stadium on game day.

Gates will open 60 minutes prior to the first pitch of the first game each day. Wristbands will be issued upon entry to Tech Softball Park. If the ballpark is cleared due to inclement weather, you may reenter the ballpark with your wristband.

2. Fans are encouraged to park in Lots 2 and 5 while Beamer Way will be closed to through traffic. Free parking for fans will be available in Lots 2 (Lane Stadium South Endzone) and 5 (Chicken Hill). Fans are encouraged to enter campus via Southgate Drive.

Beamer Way will be closed from the middle of Lane Stadium to the intersection at the entrance to Lots 2 and 4, beginning three (3) hours prior to the first game of the day until after the end of the last game of the day. Food trucks will be set up on Beamer Way, offering additional options for fans looking for concessions.

3. Additional bleachers have been added in the outfield and third base line. Fans will have the option of experiencing new sight lines at Tech Softball Park as temporary bleachers have been added down the third base line and behind left field. All bleacher seating is general admission.
 


4. Fans can enhance their gameday experience with an exclusive tailgate package. A limited number of turnkey tailgate packages are available next to Tech Softball Park during Regionals on May 20-22. Tailgate packages are available for $560 and include a 10' x 10' tailgate tent, table and 10 tailgate chairs for all 3 tournament dates. Game tickets are required to purchase a tailgate package.

5. The University Club is holding an open house on Friday afternoon. Located on the fourth floor of Lane Stadium, the University Club of Virginia Tech is inviting prospective members to a free open house on Friday from 12:30-4:30 p.m. There will be complimentary hors d'oeuvres and choice of one (1) house drink, along with tours of the spaces and a chance to interact with the Membership Services team.

6. Catch more action on the diamond this weekend as Tech baseball hosts Duke. The third-ranked Hokies will play their final regular season series this Thursday-Saturday, May 19-21, as Duke visits English Field. Tickets are available for as little as $5.
