Katie Flores appointed director of operations for women's soccer

BLACKSBURG - Head coach Chugger Adair announced the hiring of Katie Flores to the Virginia Tech women's soccer staff as the director of operations. 
 
"We are extremely excited to add Katie to our staff," said Adair. "She is a quality person who has great experience working with teams and growing team culture. She is going to help keep us all going in the right direction and covering the logistics of the job. It is a pleasure to have her join our staff, and I look forward to her impact on our culture and family!" 
 
A former DIV. III women's soccer goalkeeper, Flores was named a CAC Defensive Player of the Week and earned Second Team All-Conference honors while attending St. Mary's College of Maryland from 2015 to 2019. As a student, she achieved Dean's List honors all four years. She graduated from University of North Carolina this past spring earning a master of science in kinesiology. 
 
"I am very excited about this opportunity to be a part of the women's soccer team staff here at Virginia Tech," said Flores. "Virginia Tech women's soccer is a very competitive program in the ACC and I can't wait to give the program and team all that I can this season!"
 
Flores comes to Virginia Tech with two years of experience working as the manager of the University of North Carolina - Greensboro women's soccer team from 2020-22. For the past nine years, she has worked with the coaching staff at Pipeline Soccer Club in Lutherville, Maryland organizing training sessions for field athletes and goalkeepers.
