NORMAN, Okla. — Virginia Tech's Becca DiNunzio and Morgan Ketchum tied for 32nd, while the Hokies tied for 10th as a team following Monday's final round of the Schooner Fall Classic hosted by Oklahoma. The three-day event was held at Belmar Golf Club (par 70, 6,112 yards).
DiNunzio and Ketchum both fired a 2-over 212 to pace the Tech lineup. Ketchum finished the tournament 2-under in par-3 scoring, which tied for sixth in the field, meanwhile DiNunzio finished 2-under in par-5 scoring.
Alyssa Montgomery tied for 38th at 3-over 213. She blazed through Saturday's opening round with a 5-under 65 behind six birdies. Symone Henriques placed 48th at 5-over 215, while Ginnie Lee tied for 62nd at 8-over 218.
Florida State claimed the team title at 12-under 828, three shots clear of TCU. Oklahoma State (833), Houston (834) and Baylor (836) rounded out the top five. Tech signed for a 10-over 850, despite an opening-round, 7-under 273.
Caitlyn Macnab of TCU fired a 10-under 200 to prevail in the individual race by one shot over Iowa State's Karisa Chul-Ak-Sorn.
The Hokies return to action Oct. 17-18 at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational hosted by North Carolina at UNC Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill.
