NORFOLK, Va. — In a hard fought match on both sides, Tech secured a 4-2 road victory over ODU, moving to 3-0 for the first time since 2014-15.

The night started strong with the Hokies earning the doubles point. Court one featured a ranked matchup between No.13 Ryan Fishback / Jordan Chrysostom and No. 54 Younes Lalami / Brandon Perez with Tech's dynamic duo coming away with their first ranked win of the season, 7-5. Alberto Orso and Matt Harper won a 7-6 thriller on court three to earn Tech the doubles point.

Old Dominion gave the Hokies everything it had in singles, winning in straight sets on court 5 and 6 to take an early 2-1 lead. After a rough 6-2 loss in the second set, Fishback responded with a valiant effort producing a 6-2 set of his own in the third to claim his first ranked singles win of the season against No. 91 Younes Lalami.

The trend continued on court two where Alvaro Ariza climbed out of a first set loss, winning 4-6, 6-3, 7-5, to remain unbeaten on the year. All eyes turned to court three where Manuel Goncalves was in position to clinch the match for the Hokies. In a three-set battle, Goncalves earned his first singles win of the season with a dominant 6-1 performance in the third set to give Tech the win, 4-2, and remain unbeaten.
