MELBOURNE, Fla. – Becca DiNunzio carded a 1-over 217 to tie for 42nd and pace the Virginia Tech women's golf team to a 14th-place showing at the Moon Golf Invitational, which concluded Tuesday afternoon. The three-day, 54-hole event was hosted by Louisville at Suntree Country Club (par 72, 6,362 yards) in Melbourne, Florida.
The 17-team field boasted six teams ranked inside Golfstat's top 25. Ninth-ranked LSU claimed the team title at 30-under 834 (276-274-284). Northwestern, ranked 27th, finished runner-up at 21-under 843 (281-280-282). Tech tallied a 14-over 878 (284-293-301).
Michigan State's Leila Raines and Augusta's Mirabel Ting shared medalist honors at 13-under 203.
Virginia Tech is back on the course March 11-12 at the Valspar Invitational hosted by Augusta University at Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia.
