Tech falls to No. 22 NC State

RALEIGH, N.C. – Virginia Tech (8-13, 2-7) fell to No. 22 NC State, 5-2, on Friday night in Raleigh, N.C.
 
The Hokies started off well on court one with Jordan Chrysostom and Ryan Fishback returning to form defeating No. 15 Robin Catry and Luca Staeheli, 6-3. The Wolfpack took courts two and three to claim the doubles point.
 
After falling into a 3-0 hole, Scott Sculley got Tech on the board with a straight-set victory, 7-5, 6-2.
 
Alvaro Saez-Royuela Ariza seemed poised to put the Hokies closer after edging ahead in the second set but was unable to close the match and fell in three sets.

Tech ended the match on a high note behind Alberto Orso's clutch tiebreak victory in the third set, 6-1, 6-7, 1-0 (5).
