The ACC and Big Ten recently announced kick times and TV network designations for the upcoming college football season.
Virginia Tech will begin its season against Old Dominion under the bright lights of Lane Stadium in its first night game of 2023. This will be the second consecutive year that head coach Brent Pry will kick off the season against Old Dominion.
The Hokies are set to face the Monarchs on Saturday, Sept. 2 at 8 p.m. ET on ACC Network.
Tech opens the season with two straight home games against two nonconference opponents, hosting Purdue on Saturday, Sept. 9 at Noon ET on ESPN2 in Week 2.

Following their two-game stint in Blacksburg, the Hokies will travel to New Jersey to face Rutgers on Saturday, Sept. 16 at 3:30 pm. ET on Big Ten Network. Tech will face Rutgers for the first time since 2012, winning the last matchup 13-10 (OT) on Dec. 28 in the Russell Athletic Bowl.
Thursday night football is returning to Lane Stadium for back-to-back seasons. Tech has its first conference matchup with kickoff details, as Syracuse comes to battle on Thursday, Oct. 26 at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN.
