Virginia Tech football heads into its second half at Huntington, West Virginia, trailing Marshall 10-17 in a head-to-head game.
Starting off the first quarter, quarterback Kyron Drones opened his second game as a starter with a 31-yard rushing touchdown for the first score of the game. He continued to showcase his impressive athleticism, evading an unblocked blitzer throwing to receiver Stephen Gosnell for a diving one-handed catch.
In the second quarter, Bhayshul Tuten broke off a 49-yard rush, for the longest play from scrimmage for the Hokies this season. Tuten's run set up kicker John Love for a 21-yard field goal for the Hokies' second score of the game.
Defensively, linebacker Keli Lawson is dominating the Marshall offense with an interception and 4-yard return in the first quarter. Lawson has seven tackles thus far, and fellow linebacker Alan Tisdale has six in the books for the first half.
