BOSTON, Mass. – Senior Victoria Gorlova won Virginia Tech's first-ever women's indoor long jump ACC title on day two of the ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships in Boston, Mass.
The three-time ACC triple jump champion, Gorlova, claimed her first long jump title with a mark of 20' 11.75" (6.39m) on her fourth attempt of the day. Gorlova's first place finish added 10-points to the Hokies' score moving the team into second with 25 points at the end of day two. Gorlova is third women in program history to have ever won an indoor long jump conference title, the title was last won in 2000 by April Byrd in the Atlantic 10 Conference Championships.
Lindsey Butler and Star Price earned an automatic qualifying spot into the 800m finals on Saturday finishing first in their heats during the prelims. Butler clocked in the third fastest time of the day at 2:06.35, Price ranks sixth heading into the finals with a time of 2:06.87.
Ava Hassebrock advances to the mile finals recording a time of 4:45.82 in the prelims. Sprinter Barbora Malikova will represent the Hokies in the 400m as the fifth seed clocking 53.99 in prelims.
Men
Sean Murphy and Nate Paris finished the heptathlon earning second team All-ACC honors adding eight points to the men's score. Murphy finished fourth with 5659 points, followed by Paris in sixth with 5532. Top marks for the men included a second-place finish by Paris in the 60m (6.89) and a personal-best mark of 23' 2" (7.06m) in the long jump by Murphy.
High jumpers Aidan Clark, EJ Bell, and Brandon Burke added 12 points to the team's score finishing within the top-five of the event. Aidan Clark led the Hokies placing fourth at a height of 7' 1.75" (2.18m), ranked tied for 17th in the NCAA. EJ Bell and Brandon Burke tied for fifth clearing the bar at 6' 10.75" (2.10m). Virginia Tech is tied for second with North Carolina at 39 points. Louisville leads the men's competition with 43 points after seven of 17 events have been scored.
Judson Lincoln IV advanced to the 400m finals recording the fastest time of the day at 45.88 in the prelims. Nick Plant is seeded first in the 800m final with a time of 1:48.99 in the prelims. Christian Jackson will join Plant in the 800m finals earning an automatic spot with time of 1:50.08.
The Virginia Tech men's and women's track and field teams have tallied three conference champions in the past two days.

Junior Sara Killinen claimed the women's first conference title of the meet throwing 72' 11.25" (22.23m) in the women's weight throw.
Conner McClure won his second ACC Indoor Championships clearing a personal-best height of 18' 1.75" (5.53m) in the men's pole vault. Freshman Maddox Hamm finished third at a height of 16' 11.25" (5.17m).
