Hokie ClubBLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech Athletics and Playfly Sports announced today that WBRW “The Bear” will be back as the radio home for Tech athletics. The multi-year partnership will bring fans across the New River Valley live broadcasts of Virginia Tech football, men’s and women’s basketball, and baseball games as well as coaches shows.
As Virginia Tech’s flagship station, The Bear will air Hokie football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball and coaches shows on 105.3 FM. In addition, Hokie baseball will be aired on WRAD 101.7 FM.
This agreement renews a proud 30-year tradition of Virginia Tech Athletics being heard on WBRW The Bear.

Familiar voices will return to the airwaves, led by Bill Roth, who enters his 31st season as the radio play-by-play voice of Virginia Tech football. He’ll once again be joined in the booth by Hall of Fame broadcaster Mike Burnop, now entering his 43rd season as color analyst for both football and men’s basketball broadcasts.
Zach Mackey will return to the sidelines for football and is set to begin his fourth year as the play-by-play voice of Virginia Tech men’s basketball. Virginia Tech alum Evan Hughes will continue his play-by-play duties for Virginia Tech women’s basketball and baseball.

The Virginia Tech Sports Network will broadcast football, men’s basketball and Tech Talk Live on more than 35 radio affiliates statewide.
