Hokie ClubCARY, N.C. – Virginia Tech’s Arina Gamretkaia and Özlem Uslu are set to compete in the main draw of the ITA Women’s All-American Championship (Sept. 24-28) at the Cary Tennis Park.
Ahead of the ITA Women’s All-American Championship, Gamretkaia & Uslu are the first doubles pair in Tech history to be ranked in the Top 20 of the ITA poll at the time of ITA All-Americans.
Uslu is also the first Hokie to play in both main draw singles and doubles.
The highlight of the tournament for the Hokies was that Uslu defeated No. 16-ranked Scarlett Nicholson of Georgia Tech in straight sets for her first top-20 win of the fall season.
