EARLYSVILLE, Va. — The Virginia Tech cross country teams posted top-10 finishes Friday at the NCAA Southeast Regional, with three Hokies earning All-Region honors. The women placed seventh and the men finished fourth, led by standout performances from Katie Bohlke and George Couttie.
All-Region Honors
Virginia Tech produced three All-Region performers. Couttie led the men with a fourth-place finish in the 10k, running 29:36.2. Nicholas Kipchirchir joined him on the All-Region list after placing 17th with a personal-best 30:04.0. On the women’s side, Bohlke earned her spot by running a personal-best 19:53.6 to finish 16th in the 6k. Their performances gave the Hokies a strong postseason showing as the program secured multiple All-Region athletes once again.
Women’s 6k
The Hokies’ women’s squad placed seventh overall. Bohlke paced Virginia Tech with her All-Region performance. Faith Kipmaiyo followed in 29th with a time of 20:14.1, and Emma Lindner finished third for Tech, placing 42nd in 20:31.9.
Men’s 10k
The men’s team finished fourth behind strong efforts from Couttie and Kipchirchir. Declan Rymer was the Hokies’ third finisher in 29th place with a time of 30:19.8. Linus Chepkochei and Cameron Davis placed 34th and 35th, respectively, while Garrett Winter finished 45th in 30:39.9. Ethan Coleman rounded out the Hokies in 56th.
