BLACKSBURG - Virginia Tech dropped to 17-9 and 6-7 in conference play after Florida State’s second-half offensive barrage led to a 92-69 loss inside Cassell Coliseum.
The Hokies could not recover from a 13-0 run by FSU in the second half, led by Martin Somerville, who ended with 23 points on 82% shooting.
Ben Hammond and Tobi Lawal kept Tech within striking distance of the lead for most of the second half, scoring 16 each, but the Seminoles’ three-point attack and pressure defense halted any momentum the Hokies gained.
