CHICAGO – Virginia Tech forward Tobi Lawal is one of 73 draft prospects invited to this week’s 2026 NBA Draft Combine set to take place in Wintrust Arena and the Marriott Marquis in Chicago. The Combine will take place from May 10-17.

Lawal has impressed scouts and coaches alike with his athleticism his entire collegiate career, with a measured vertical leap of 49.5 inches.

This past season, the 6-foot-8 London native started 17 times in 23 appearances and averaged 12.3 points per game while shooting 54% from the field. His rebounding mark of 8.5 per contest ranked in the top 10 amongst ACC athletes and he recorded 15 rebounds on two occasions. He scored in double figures 14 times and eclipsed 20 three times.

He played for the Hokies each of the last two seasons after beginning his collegiate career at VCU.

The First Round of the 2026 NBA Draft will occur on Tuesday, June 23 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The following night, Wednesday, will be the Second Round.

Lawal hopes to be the first Hokie selected in the NBA Draft since this season’s Kia NBA Most Improved Player, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, who was selected in 2019 in the first round.
