Bohlke and Lindner cap Hokies’ NCAA Championships run in Eugene

Bohlke, Lindner, and Cook highlight Virginia Tech’s national presence with record-breaking performances and breakout seasons.

EUGENE, Ore. — Katie Bohlke, Jule Lindner, and Kaitlyn Cook delivered standout performances on the national stage, each earning All-America honors to highlight the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Hayward Field.

Bohlke ran a personal-best 15:18.71 in the 5,000 meters to break her own school record, and secure an eighth-place finish for First Team All-American honors. The performance capped a breakout season in which she established herself among the nation’s top distance runners. Earlier in the year, she set the Virginia Tech record in her first collegiate 5,000-meter race at the Virginia Challenge (15:31.85), won the ACC title, and qualified for nationals after running 15:31.94 at the NCAA East First Round.

Lindner made her mark as a freshman, finishing seventh in the 3,000-meter steeplechase final in 9:47.96 to earn First Team All-American honors. She rewrote the Virginia Tech record books throughout the outdoor season, running a program-record 9:46.08 at the Virginia Challenge—breaking the previous mark by six seconds. She added First Team All-ACC honors with a third-place finish at the conference meet and advanced to Eugene after placing fifth(9:46.95) at regionals.

Cook earned Honorable Mention All-America honors in the triple jump after recording a mark of 12.65 meters (41 feet, 6 inches) to finish in the top 20.

Her debut season at Virginia Tech featured multiple program milestones. Indoors, she opened at the VT Invitational with a personal-best 12.91 meters (42 feet, 4.25 inches) in the triple jump, ranking fourth in program history, and also posted a 6.04-meter (19 feet, 9.75 inches) long jump at the Hokie Invitational, third all-time. She placed 10th in both the triple jump and long jump at the ACC Indoor Championships.

Outdoors, Cook opened with a personal-best 13.31 meters (43 feet, 8 inches) at the Virginia Grand Prix, a mark that ranks fourth in program history and earned her the event title. She later qualified for the NCAA Championships for the first time in her career, completing a strong 2026 campaign for the Hokies.
