Responsibilities: Brian Lauer, DO, CAQSM serves as a Team Physician for Virginia Tech Athletics, providing care for multiple varsity sports. He is also an Assistant Professor at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine where he is involved with education of medical students, residents, and fellows from the VT/VCOM Primary Care Sports Fellowship.

Prior to Virginia Teach: Prior to joining Virginia Tech, Dr. Lauer practiced at outpatient orthopedic and sports medicine clinics in both New Albany and Shelbyville, Indiana. In addition to caring for patients within the clinic, he served as assistant team physician for Racing Louisville FC, and multiple area high schools providing both sideline and training room coverage.

Personal: Born and raised in Indiana, Dr. Lauer is excited to return to Blacksburg and serve Virginia Tech Athletics, the students at VCOM, and the greater Blacksburg community. While not working, he enjoys supporting VT Athletics, traveling and time with his family, and local cuisine/drinks. He and his wife, Katie, live in Blacksburg with their son Cameron, and dog Baxter.
