Jada Karnes

Assistant Director for Leadership Gifts

Responsibilities: In her role, Jada is responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding gifts to assist in student-athlete scholarships, programmatic needs and capital projects for the Hokie Club. She is also responsible for the fundraising efforts for Virginia Tech's Men's Soccer and Men's and Women's Tennis programs.

Joined VT Athletics Staff: 2024

At Virginia Tech: Jada started her career in athletics as an intern with Student-Athlete Academic Support Services, working specifically with football. She also interned with Virginia Tech football’s Player Engagement Department. Before moving over to the Major Gifts side, Jada worked on the Hokie Club's Annual Fund, helping cuiltivate member acquisition initiatives across all fundraising channels, helping manage sport-specific fundraising, increasing awareness of the Student Hokie Club and the Recent Grad Program along with managing return on investment through a variety of projects.

Prior to Virginia Tech: After graduating from Roanoke College, Jada served as a graduate assistant for Liberty University’s softball team before coming to Blacksburg to work in different roles within athletics.

Education: Jada graduated from Roanoke College with a Bachelor’s degree in 2023 where she double majored in Sport Management and Communication Studies and was a member of the Maroons softball team. She then completed her Master’s degree in Sport Management from Liberty University in 2024.

Personal: Karnes is a native of Roanoke, Virginia.
