Katie Wyeth, MS, LAT, ATC

Director, Sports Medicine - Volleyball

Responsibilities: Coordinates all sports medicine needs for the Virginia Tech Volleyball program.

Joined VT Athletics Staff: 2026

Prior to Virginia Tech: Wyeth attended Indiana University for her master’s degree in athletic training where she graduated in 2023. She worked with the women’s volleyball, swim and dive, football, and wrestling teams while at IU. After graduation, Wyeth was an assistant athletic trainer at NC State University from 2023-2026. She worked primarily with the cheer team and mascots. While at NC State, Wyeth was a clinical preceptor for CAATE accredited Master of Athletic Training Programs.

Of Note: Wyeth has been a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association since 2021. She is a licensed athletic trainer by the Virginia Board of Health Professions. She was awarded the Staff Athletic Trainer of the Year award by the NATA-ICSM in 2026. She is certified in the use of dry needling (SFDN1 & SFDN2) through Structure & Function Education and an FRC Mobility Specialist (FRCms). She also holds certifications in Graston Technique (Module 1), Mulligan Technique Lower Extremity, and Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization.

Personal: A native of Batavia, Illinois, she now lives in Blacksburg, VA. She enjoys traveling the world and reading books in her free time.
