Responsibilities: Mark Rogers serves as Chief Medical Officer, and Team Physician for Virginia Tech Athletics, providing care across all varsity sports. In addition to his role with Athletics, he is a Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, and serves as the Department Chair in the Discipline of Sports Medicine at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM), where he teaches medical students, residents, and Primary Care Sports Medicine fellows.

Outside Experiences to Virginia Tech: In addition to caring for patients in the VCOM Sports & Osteopathic Medicine clinic, he serves as a team physician for Pulaski River Turtles baseball team in the Appalachian League, providing sideline and training room coverage. He has also been a consultant to former minor league teams for the Seattle Mariners and New York Yankees; in addition to the New Orleans Saints and Denver Broncos. He has also provided onsite medical care for the PGA Greenbrier Classic for many years, in addition to several other local and regional events, and High Schools.

Personal: Born and raised in Wisconsin, Dr. Rogers is proud to serve, for the last several decades, both the Virginia Tech and local New River Valley communities. Outside of work, he enjoys supporting Hokie Athletics, and spending time outdoors, hiking and traveling with his family. He and his wife, Krista, live in Blacksburg with their two children, Connor and Keagan, who both attend Virginia Tech.
