McKenna Woodruff serves as an Assistant Olympic Sports Dietitian at Virginia Tech, where she supports the track & field, men’s tennis, and baseball while managing the Oasis, the student fueling station.
In her role, Woodruff provides individualized nutrition counseling and team-based education to help student-athletes optimize performance, recovery, and overall health. As part of the performance team, she develops sport-specific fueling strategies and supports athletes in areas such as energy availability and eating disorder–informed nutrition care.
Woodruff manages the daily operations of the Nutrition Oasis, including inventory management, ordering, and supervising student workers, helping to create a high-performance fueling environment.
She joined Virginia Tech in September 2025 after earning her Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics and completing her dietetic internship at Marshall University (2025). She earned her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from Ashland University (2024).
A former collegiate track and field athlete at both Ashland and Marshall, Woodruff brings firsthand experience to her work with student-athletes.
Originally from Wakeman, Ohio, she now resides in Blacksburg, Virginia.
