Lewis Set to Play in USA Softball National Championship

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Virginia Tech softball assistant coach Mike Lewis will compete in the USA Softball Men's Major Fastpitch National Championship this weekend as a member of the Kegel Black Knights softball club.

Kicking off tomorrow, August 6, and concluding on Sunday, August 8, the premier men's fast pitch tournament welcomes 15 teams from across the nation who will vie for the coveted Championship title.

Lewis is coming off a National Championship win in the 2020 tournament, where the Kegel Black Knights went a perfect 4-0. Lewis started all four games at third base for Kegel and was named an All-American at the conclusion of the tournament.

"The USA Softball Men's major is one of the most prestigious events in all of softball," head softball coach Pete D'Amour said. "We're looking forward to watching Mike and his team as they try to defend their title."

Lewis serves as both a player and the general manager for the Kegel Black Knights. For a live stream, stats and the 2021 schedule, click here.
