Playing at night in head coach Brent Pry's first game at Lane Stadium, Virginia tech football showed out and ran past Boston College 27-10 on Sept. 10, 2022. The victory marked a lot of things, including Pry's first win, his first ACC victory and his first home triumph.

LUNCH PAIL DEFENSE
Tech's defense had a day causing havoc in the pocket, sacking Boston College quarterback Phil Jurkovec five times. The five sacks ended up being tied for the most in a game by the Hokies this season, and defensive end TyJuan Garbutt had three TFLs and forced a fumble to win ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week and rank No. 1 nationally in Week 2 by PFF among defensive ends.

OFF AND RUNNING
Leading 10-0 early in the second quarter, running back Keshawn King took a handoff out of shotgun to the right and went untouched all the way to the end zone for a 65-yard house call. The play was King's longest rush of the season and marked Tech's third-longest play in 2022.

THE MOMENT
Following the game, the Hokies celebrated the win on the field and kept the momentum going into the locker room, where linebacker Dax Hollifield gave the game ball to Pry for his first win. Pry would follow up with a speech reminding the players to be appreciative of everyone.
