The Virginia Tech women's basketball team is ranked 16th in the AP Poll the organization announced Monday afternoon.

The Hokies are 7-2 on the season following two lopsided victories last week against LIU (98-50) and Radford (85-40).

Center Elizabeth Kitley tallied two double-doubles shooting 62% from the field. She also tallied two blocks in each game. Georgia Amoore recorded a double-double of her own vs. LIU (10 points, 14 assists). Freshman Carys Baker had a great week scoring 18 points (4-6 3FG) vs. LIU and then adding nine points in the victory over Radford.

Tech is on the floor on Sunday, Dec. 17 for a 5:30 p.m. tip at Rutgers. That matchup can be seen on FS1.

A win for the Hokies would be Head Coach Kenny Brooks' 500th of his career. Kitley is also closing in on a milestone, she is 21 rebounds away from setting the Virginia Tech and ACC record with 1,300.

Tech is back home on Carilion Clinic Court at Cassell Coliseum on Thursday, Dec. 21 for a 2 p.m. tip against the William & Mary Tribe. That game can be seen on ACC Network Extra. Ticket packages are available HERE.

Virginia Tech faculty/staff can claim up to two tickets per Virginia Tech staff ID at the Cassell Coliseum ticket booth for select games this winter. Individuals can present up to four eligible IDs at one time and claim up to eight tickets (while supplies last). Tickets must be claimed the day of the game, starting 90 minutes from tip off.
