BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech scored the last 14 points of the first quarter to grab a lead they would not relinquish as they squeezed Radford on the defensive end only allowing 34 points and 22% shooting from the visitors. Lani White led all scorers with 23 points, her career high, and she was followed closely by Carleigh Wenzel who dropped 22 behind six triples.
The Hokies are 8-3 (0-1) heading into their final non-conference matchup of the season Dec. 21 vs. Campbell. Radford is 1-10.
The Hokies shot 45.5% for the game and owned an advantage on the glass 41-35. Tech rejected 10 shots in the game, the most they have recorded this season.
Senior Matilda Ekh was also in double figures with 11 and redshirt sophomore Mackenzie Nelson posted nine assists Sunday afternoon.
