Hokie ClubVirginia Tech wrestling is back! After a successful opening weekend at the Southeast Open, the No. 10 Hokies begin their dual schedule this Friday as they host Bucknell at 7 p.m. ET. Here’s five reasons to attend pack Cassell Coliseum:
- Come see the Defending ACC Double Champions
The road to the conference title runs through Blacksburg as the defending ACC regular season and tournament champions take to the mat for the first time in Cassell Coliseum this new season. The Hokies are led by two-time All-American and ACC champion, No. 4 Eddie Ventresca along with eight national qualifiers in the lineup.
- THREEEEE and ACC Trophy Picture Opportunities
The first 250 fans through Cassell doors will receive takedown foam fingers! Fans will also have a chance to take pictures with the ACC trophies pre-dual on the concourse.
- New Faces, New Excitement
The Hokies return familiar faces but also feature three transfers and the fourth-ranked high school recruiting Class of 2025. With returners anchoring the squad, Tech will look to build upon the previous year’s success with a team mixed with veteran and youthful presence up and down the lineup.
- Five Potential Nationally Ranked Match Ups
The Hokies boast nine out ten ranked wrestlers across ranking polls and rank top 10 in the country as a team. The home team welcomes a scrappy Bucknell Bison squad with five ranked wrestlers, potentially lining up five ranked matchups on Friday night.
