BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Hokies concluded the Doc Hale Virginia Tech Elite Meet with solid finished from several Tech athletes at Rector Field House on Saturday afternoon.
In the men’s pole vault, Chris Uhle led the way for a Hokies with a second-place finish hitting a mark of 17’07” (5.36m). Jared Allison finished in fourth with a mark of 17’01” (5.21m). Brad Johnson and James Steck finished in ninth and 10th places, respectively, both hitting marks of 16’01.25” (4.91m).
Dante Price finished in fifth place in the invitational section of the 200-meter dash. Priced crossed the finish line in 22.17 seconds.
Competing unattached in the men’s 3000-meter race, Daniel Rau finished in ninth place with a time of 8:34.02.
In the women’s 3000-meter race, Abigail Motley posted a seventh-place finish with a time of 10:02.38. Competing unattached in the same event, Katie Kennedy finished in eighth with a time of 10:03.49.
The Hokies will be back in action next week at the Marshall Invitational and the Iowa State Invitational.
