BLACKSBURG – Starting the month of February on the road, the Virginia Tech track and field teams will split up its disciplines and go to three meets this weekend.
For the second time this season, fans can watch the Hokies compete online. The sprints/hurdles group and thrower Pavla Kuklova will make the trek to Kentucky’s campus for the Rod McCravy Invitational, which will air live on the SEC Network +. The event is a one-day meet starting at 10 a.m. ET with field events.
The distance group will head south to Winston Salem, North Carolina, where it will compete at the Camel City Invitational inside JDL Fast Track. The jumps/multi-events and pole vault groups will head north to the Akron Invitational at Stile Athletics Field House. Both invites are two-day meets.

The last time out, the Hokies split up and went to the Liberty Kickoff and Bob Pollack Invitational. Junior Rachel Pocratsky reset her school record in the 1,000-meter run and freshman Lisa Gunnarsson set a school record in the pole vault.
Pocratsky was named ACC Women’s Track Performer of the Week and Gunnarsson was tabbed ACC Women’s Field Performer of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
Other winners for Tech on the weekend included Neil Gourley (1,000; 2:21.89), Deakin Volz (pole vault; 5.38 meters, 17 feet, 7.75 inches) and Lauren Berman (mile; 4:51.71).
The men were tabbed No. 16 in the country earlier this week, according to the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), the best ranking from the ACC. The women came in at No. 41, the third-highest ranking in the league.
In the ACC, Tech boasts 11 top-five times and marks in the conference, while nationally it owns 20 marks that rank in the top 100.
