BLACKSBURG – Head coach Justin Fuente announced Wednesday that Ricky Walker will wear Frank Beamer's No. 25 jersey on Friday in Virginia Tech's game vs. Virginia. The senior defensive tackle becomes just the second Hokie to receive the honor three times in a career, joining Greg Stroman. Walker wore the No. 25 jersey to open the season at Florida State and also received the distinction against Duke in 2017.

Walker (6-2, 300) was dubbed "The Bell Cow" of the Lunch Pail Defense by Bud Foster a year ago, citing
him as an example other players should follow. On the season Walker has tallied 36 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, one sack and two quarterback hurries.
At the beginning of the 2016 season, head coach Justin Fuente announced that a special teams' player of the week would be selected to wear the No. 25 as a tribute to Coach Beamer and his legacy of special teams' excellence he established for the Hokies.
