Hokie ClubBLACKSBURG – With a win over Marshall on Saturday, Virginia Tech officially became bowl eligible for the 26th consecutive season. Tech's current bowl streak of 26 consecutive seasons is the nation's longest active streak and is tied as the third-longest streak in college football history.
Head coach Justin Fuente has now guided the Hokies to bowl games in each of his first three seasons at the helm in Blacksburg.
Tech's bowl destination will be known at some point in the afternoon on Sunday, Dec. 2, at which point a pre-sale on HokieSports.com will begin for Hokie Scholarship Fund donors and football season ticket holders. At that time, specific pricing options will become available.
The deadline for purchasing tickets during this exclusive pre-sale will be Tuesday, Dec. 4 at 5 p.m. Following the deadline, tickets will be allocated based upon Hokie Club priority as of June 30, 2018.
Per the Hokie Club Donor Guide Book, donors who give at the top three scholarship fund levels (Hokie Ambassador, Hokie Scholar, and Hokie Stone) will receive first priority seating for football postseason ticket allocation, with Hokie Ambassadors receiving first priority, followed by Hokie Scholars, and finally Hokie Stone donors. Remaining tickets (if available) will be allocated throughout all other donor giving levels based upon donors' priority point totals.
Following the deadline, and once tickets from the pre-sale have been allocated, they will be made available to the general public on HokieSports.com beginning at noon on Wednesday, Dec. 5. Student tickets for the bowl game will also go on sale at 12 p.m. on Dec. 5.
Tech has won four of its last six bowl games, including a 1-1 record under Fuente. The Hokies' streak of 26 straight bowl games began in 1993 with a 45-20 victory over Indiana in the Independence Bowl.
