ST. LOUIS – Just a day after being named All-ACC, Kerry Blackshear Jr. has been tabbed U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) All-District, as announced by the organization on Tuesday.

Blackshear makes the District III Team along with 10 other players, including nine from the ACC. It marks his first time making the team and the first since Justin Robinson making the team last year.

The Florida native has been a key reason for the Hokies' (23-7) success this season, tallying 14.5 points, a team-best 7.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. Blackshear has posted seven double-doubles this year, a team high as well.

For each of the nine geographic districts, 10 players are selected (11 in the case of ties in the voting) as well as a player and coach of the year.
The USBWA will release its 2018-19 Men's All-America team on March 18, along with the finalists for the Oscar Robertson Trophy (National Player of the Year), Wayman Tisdale Award (National Freshman Player of the Year) and the Henry Iba Award (National Coach of the Year).

Tech will take on Miami (Fla.) (14-17), which is coming off a 79-71 victory of Wake Forest (11-20) Tuesday, in the second round of the New York Life ACC Tournament on Wednesday at 2 p.m. ET.
