Saturday - Round Two Completion
Amanda Hollandsworth posted a two-round total 11-over 153 and missed the cut at the 74th U.S. Women's Open Championship on Saturday morning. The four-day national championship is being played at the Country Club of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina.
The Floyd, Virginia native was forced to complete her second round on Saturday morning after play was suspended on Friday night due to darkness. The second round had been delayed for nearly two hours due to thunderstorms during the late afternoon on Friday while Hollandsworth was on the course. She birdied her final hole on Friday evening, the par 3 11th, before play was suspended and finished her final seven holes on Saturday at 2-under for a second round 75.
Hollandsworth earned her berth in the event by taking medalist honors in the sectional qualifier in Springfield, Virginia on April 30, becoming the first Virginia Tech women's golfer to play in a professional major. Although she achieved the opportunity as an amateur, she turned professional before the U.S. Women's Open began.
Friday - Round Two
Play was suspended at 8:24 p.m. EDT on Friday due to darkness after a late afternoon weather delay. Amanda Hollandsworth had completed 11 holes before the suspension. Currently 141st, Hollandsworth will complete her second round on Saturday morning.
Thursday - Round One

The Floyd, Virginia native is tied for 134thplace entering the second round on Friday. Hollandsworth started on the back nine and made the turn at 2-over, but struggled on the closing three holes for her 78.
Japan's Mamiko Higa shot an opening round 65 and holds a one stroke lead on Thursday. Only 14 of the 156 competitors broke par on Thursday.
Hollandsworth earned her place in the event by winning a sectional qualifier in Springfield, Virginia on April 30. She is the first Virginia Tech women's golfer to play in a professional major. Although Hollandsworth achieved the opportunity as an amateur, she turned professional before the tournament began. After Friday's second round, the field will be cut to the low 60 scorers and ties.
She is grouped with Babe Liu of Taiwan and LPGA member Charlotte Thomas of England. The trio will tee off for the second round at 2:57 p.m. EDT from the first tee on Friday.
