Fourteen Hokies are ready to represent Virginia Tech at NCAA Outdoor Championships

Austin – Fourteen Hokies will be representing the Virginia Tech track and field teams at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Austin, Texas at the University of Texas at Austin, starting on Wednesday.
 
The four-day meet will begin for the Hokies at 4:00 p.m. ET with men's 4x100-meter relay team of Joseph Tay, Michael Davenport, Derek Tay and Cole Beck. This is the first of two consecutive years that the Longhorns will host the NCAAs as the usual host Oregon is undergoing a two-year renovation.
 
The ESPN family of networks will provide extensive coverage of all four days of the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Championships. Fans can watch the meet on television at the following times: 
 
WEDNESDAY – 7:30 p.m. ET – ESPN2
THURSDAY – 8 p.m. ET - ESPNU
THURSDAY – 9:00 p.m. ET – ESPN2
FRIDAY – 8:30 p.m. ET – ESPN
SATURDAY – 6:30 p.m. ET – ESPN2
 
In addition to the television coverage, which will focus primarily on track events, ESPN3 will provide live, dedicated streams of all combined events and most field events. A complete ESPN coverage schedule, including streaming links, can be found here.

The last time out at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, Vincent Ciattei won silver in the 1,500-meter run, Lisa Gunnarson and Rachel Baxter finished 3rd and 4th in the women's pole vault and the men's pole vault group of Joel Leon Benitez, Torben Laidig and Deakin Volz became the first trio on the same team to earn first-team All-America honors since Baylor accomplished the task in 1985.

Of the 14 Hokies, the sprints group has one sprinter, one hurdler and the 4x100-meter relay team, the distance group has five, throws has two, the jumps group has one and the vault group also has one.
