Hokies head into second week of NFL preseason action

A full slate of NFL preseason games are on tap this weekend, beginning on Thursday night. As usual, Virginia Tech will be well represented.
 
Buffalo at Carolina – Friday, August 16; 7:00 p.m. ET
LB Tremaine Edmunds, WR Cam Phillips, G Wyatt Teller and the Buffalo Bills will take on the Carolina Panthers and former teammate K Joey Slye. Slye went 3-for-3 on FGs, including a 55-yarder, and hit both his extra points in last week's 23-13 win at Chicago in relief of injured K Graham Gano. In the Bills' matchup against the Colts, Edmunds tallied four tackles, while Teller played 48 snaps at guard and Phillips had an eight-yard catch for a touchdown.

Kansas City at Pittsburgh – Saturday, August 17; 7:30 p.m. ET
RB Trey Edmunds, S Terrell Edmunds and the Pittsburgh Steelers host CB Kendall Fuller and the Kansas City Chiefs. Fuller only saw action in the opening two drives for the Chiefs in their preseason opener vs. Cincinnati. Trey Edmunds rushed five times for 19 yards and Terrell Edmunds had two tackles and one pass defended in their 30-28 victory against Bruce Arians and the Buccaneers.

Thursday, August 15
 
Green Bay at Baltimore – 7:30 p.m. ET
T Yosuah Nijman and the Green Bay Packers face S Chuck Clark and the Baltimore Ravens. Last week against the Texans, Nijman took 14 snaps at tackle, while Clark had one tackle and one pass defended in last week's 29-0 win over the Jaguars.
 
Redskins at Cincinnati – 7:30 p.m. ET
CB Adonis Alexander, DT Tim Settle, CB Greg Stroman head to Cincinnati to take on the Bengals. Alexander and Stroman did not see action in last week's 30-10 loss against the Bengals, while Settle contributed two tackles on the day.
 
N.Y. Jets at Atlanta – 7:30 p.m. ET
Temuchin "Bucky" Hodges is currently on injured reserved for N.Y. Jets.
 
Friday, August 16
 
Chicago at N.Y. Giants – 7:30 p.m. ET
CB Kyle Fuller and the Chicago Bears will battle the New York Giants. Fuller did not see any action in last week's 23-13 loss to the Panthers.
 
Miami at Tampa Bay – 7:30 p.m. ET
WR Isaiah Ford and the Miami Dolphins take on head coach Bruce Arians and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The two teams have been conducting joint workouts at the Bucs' facility this week. Arians and the Buccaneers are coming off a 30-28 loss to the Steelers, while Ford had three targets in 40 snaps against the Falcons. Former alums Cody Grimm (Defensive/Special Teams Assistant) and Nick Rapone (Safeties Coach) are members of the Buccaneers staff, while Kevin Jones is serving a Bill Walsh Coaching Fellowship during cmap.  
 
Saturday, August 17
 
Cleveland at Indianapolis – 4:00 p.m. ET
OLB Dadi Nicolas and the Indianapolis Colts host the Cleveland Browns. Nicolas tallied two tackles in last week's 24-16 loss to the Bills.
 
Detroit at Houston – 8:00 p.m. ET
TE Logan Thomas and the Detroit Lions travel to the Lone Star State to matchup against the Houston Texans. Thomas tallied one tackle and saw one target in 10 snaps at tight end in last week's 31-3 loss to the Patriots.
 
Dallas at L.A. Rams – 10:00 p.m. ET
DT Ricky Walker and the Dallas Cowboys take on the Los Angeles Rams. Walker is coming off a three-tackle performance in the Cowboys' 17-9 loss against the 49ers that included one tackle for loss.
 
Sunday, August 18
 
New Orleans at L.A. Chargers – 4:00 p.m. ET
QB Tyrod Taylor, CB Brandon Facyson and the Los Angeles Chargers face the New Orleans Saints. Taylor completed all six of his pass attempts for 72 yards and carried the ball two times for 34 yards, while Facyson had two tackles in their 17-13 loss against the Cardinals.

Seattle at Minnesota – 8:00 p.m. ET
T Duane Brown and the Seattle Seahawks travel to Minnesota to face the Vikings.
 
Monday, August 19
 
San Francisco at Denver – 8:00 p.m. ET
S Antone Exum., Jr. and the San Francisco 49ers will battle the Denver Broncos. Exum, Jr. had two tackles and two passes defensed in last week's 17-9 win against Dallas.
