BLACKSBURG – After a one week delay, the Virginia Tech men's golf team will open its 2019-20 regular season on Monday, as it competes in the VCU Invitational. The two day tournament will be played Monday and Tuesday at the Country Club of Virginia's Tuckahoe Creek Course in Richmond, Virginia. The Hokies were originally scheduled to compete in the Battle at Briar's Creek in Charleston, South Carolina earlier this week, but the tournament was canceled due to the effects of Hurricane Dorian.
The tournament will mark the head coaching debut of Brian Sharp. The Virginia Tech Sports Hall of Famer and long-time program assistant and associate head coach takes over the reins of the program this season following the retirement of Jay Hardwick.
