Notre Dame, Ind. – Coming into the ACC Indoor Championships with the hopes of defending its title on the men's side and winning on the women's side for the first time since 2008, the Virginia Tech track and field teams head north to Notre Dame for the three-day meet.
All five disciplines will be heading to the Hoosier State, with Jacory Patterson (400), Peter Seufer (5,000), Sarah Edwards (mile), Rachel Baxter (pole vault) and the women's distance medley relay team looking to defend titles.
Action begins on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the heptathlon and will continue through Saturday, ending with the 4x400-meter relay.
ACC Network Extra will provide coverage at the Friday and Saturday sessions. The broadcast team will feature Larry Rawson as the color analyst. He will be joined by play-by-play announcer Shawn Kenney and distance analyst David Mitchell from 2 p.m. through the end of competition on Friday and from 1 p.m. until the meet's conclusion on Saturday.

Thirteen event titles highlighted the Hokies' performances at the Virginia Tech Challenge. The distance group led the way, as it combined for six event titles: Fitsum Seyoum (mile), Cate Stone (600 meters) Eldon Phillips (600 meters), Ben Fleming (1,000 meters), Grace Boone (800 meters), and Dave Whitfield (800 meters). Essence Henderson (shot put), Arlicia Bush (400 meters), Kennedy Dennis (60-meter dash), Keith Moore (long jump) and Emma Thor (weight throw) placed first as well.
Hokies in the Rankings
Tech is the lone team in the ACC to have both of its teams ranked, as the men are No. 17 and the women are No. 18 in the latest United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Rating Index.
The men and women have combined for 29 times and marks that rank in the top 50 in the nation. In the ACC, the Hokies own 32 times and marks that sit in the top five of the league.
