Tech adds Delaware grad transfer Mutts

BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech head men's basketball coach Mike Young has announced the signing of grad transfer Justyn Mutts on Thursday.

Mutts, a forward from Delaware, will be able to play immediately for the 2020-21 academic year and has two seasons of eligibility remaining. Ranking fifth in the Colonial Athletic Association in rebounds per game with 8.4 this past season, Mutts racked up 11 double-doubles and scored in double figures 19 times to lead the Blue Hens to a 22-11 record and to the semifinals of the CAA Tournament.

"Justyn brings us immediate size, scoring ability and a passion for winning, which are all things we are looking for in our system," Young said. "His previous college experience will be something that will help our program from day one. We are thrilled he is a Hokie and are excited about his future at Virginia Tech."
