Hokie ClubBLACKSBURG - The Virginia Tech women's soccer team will close out its regular season this weekend with league matches at Wake Forest and Boston College. The Hokies and Demon Deacons will faceoff on Thursday night at 7 p.m. - a match that can be seen on RSN/Fox Sports South. Tech will then head north to face the Eagles on Sunday, with kickoff set for 1:30 p.m. - a game that can be seen on the ACC Network.
Last time versus Wake Forest - On Oct. 18, 2019, Grace Sklopan scored her first collegiate goal 15 minutes after the break and Tech defeated the Demon Deacons 1-0. The Hokies held a 15-6 shot advantage as Mandy McGlynn earned the shutout in net, her ninth of the year, and gave Tech its 10th win of the season.
Wake Forest Fan information: At this time, Spry Stadium will continue to be closed to the public.
Last time versus Boston College - On Oct. 24, 2019, the Hokies were trailing by a goal deep into the second half, before Kelsey Irwin scored on back-to-back free kicks to complete Tech's comeback in a 2-1 victory over Boston College. Irwin scored in the 76th minute from 22 yards out to tie the match, then from 30 yards out in the 84th minute for the game winner.
Boston College Fan information: All home 2020 BC athletics events will be closed to the public due to Covid-19 protocols.

Tech looking to make a run for Cary
- The Hokies close out their regular season this weekend with league matches at Wake Forest and Boston College on a bit of a run and still have a chance to make the 2020 ACC Championship.
- Over its last five matches, Tech is 3-2 and has outscored its opposition 12-6.
- The top eight teams in the final league standings will advance to the ACC tournament being held in Cary, North Carolina, starting with quarterfinal matches on Tuesday, Nov. 10.
Hokies close out home slate with victory
- Against Navy (Oct. 24), Tech played its final home match of the 2020 season and before it, honored five seniors pregame.
- It was then senior Allyson Brown, who delivered the game winner in the 2-1 win.
- Opening the scoring in the contest was Tori Powell, who like Brown, scored her third goal of the year off an assist from Emily Gray.
- For Gray, the two assists in the match gave her a team-best seven this season and ties her for the seventh-most ever recorded in a single season at the school, done seven other times and last accomplished by Jordan Coburn (2015).
- Gray now has 15 career assists which is good for seventh on Tech's all-time career list and two behind Erin Moore (2004-07) for the sixth spot.
- The assist to Brown was Gray's third game-winning assist of the year and seventh of her career.
Gray honored by the ACC
- Announced Oct. 27 by the Atlantic Coast Conference, Emily Gray was chosen as the ACC Women's Soccer Co-Offensive Player of the Week.
- Gray leads the nation in assists with seven, two better than a pair of Sun Belt players and three better than the five closest ACC players.
- She also leads the conference in assists per game (0.70), but sits fifth nationally, while she is 16th in the country in points, seventh in the conference with nine.
- Gray earns her first weekly honor from the ACC and becomes just the second midfielder at the school to earn the award – Jennifer Harvey (Sept. 13, 2009). Joining Alia Skinner (Oct. 6), it marks just the fifth time in Tech history, the Hokies have had two different ACC honorees in the same season.
- For her effort, Gray was also named to the College Soccer News – Women's National Team of the Week.
