Hokie duo wraps up play at The Sally

ORMOND BEACH, Fla.
 – Virginia Tech's Becca DiNunzio and Alyssa Montgomery finished in 28th and a tie for 29th, respectively, at the 2021 South Atlantic Women's Amateur Championship (The Sally), which concluded Saturday evening at Oceanside Country Club.

Behind five birdies in her final round, DiNunzio carded a 1-under-par 71 to surge up the leaderboard. The sophomore from Norfolk, Va., amassed a four-day total of 305 (75-82-77-71). DiNunzio logged 14 birdies for the tournament.

Montgomery finished one stroke behind her teammate at 306 (71-74-80-81). The Knoxville, Tenn., native racked up 11 birdies over her 72 holes, including five in her opening-round 71.

Ellen Hume, a junior at Ole Miss, posted back-to-back rounds in red figures to claim the individual title at 5-under-par 283 (71-72-71-69).
