ST. LOUIS – Virginia Tech wrestling has concluded its 2021 NCAA Championships after three wrestlers placed Saturday afternoon in Session VI at the Enterprise Center.
Sixth-year senior Korbin Myers placed fourth at 133 pounds after a 1-1 Saturday, the first time he's placed at the NCAAs in his fourth trip. Friday, Myers earned his first All-American honors of his career. The Carlisle, Pennsylvania native ends his season with a 12-2 record.
At 125 pounds, redshirt freshman Sam Latona placed sixth in his first NCAA appearance in as many seasons starting for the Hokies. Latona finished his season 14-3 in his first year competing attached.
With a 1-0 showing Saturday, Hunter Bolen claimed seventh place at 184 pounds with his 6-3 decision over No. 3 seed Lou DePrez of Binghamton. The Christiansburg product earned All-American status for the second straight year but first as a placewinner in 2021. Bolen ends his season with a 13-3 record.
After Session VI, the Hokies are 14th and end the tournament with 36.5 points.
