GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Atlantic Coast Conference announced the 2021 All-ACC Academic Team Thursday, which included Virginia Tech men's golfers Connor Burgess, Cameron Moore and Daniel Azallion, who finished the previous semester with a 3.0 cumulative average and a 3.0 during their academic career.
Leading the way was two-time honoree Burgess, an entrepreneurship, innovation and technology management major. Burgess competed in seven events, registering a 73.29 scoring average.
He finished in the red three times, including a career-best 10-under 206 at the Stitch Intercollegiate to tie for ninth. Burgess notched eight rounds of par-or-better, with four of those being in the 60s.
Moore, a business information technology major, compiled a 73.43 scoring average (fourth on the team) in the seven events he played. The junior totaled six rounds of par-or-better, including a season-best, 5-under 67 in the opening round of the Oldfield Invitational.
A sophomore finance major, Azallion recorded a 74.33 scoring average, which was fifth-best on the team. Azallion fired a 9-under 207 to claim the Oldfield Invitational title. He competed in seven events, posting five rounds of par-or-better.
