In the latest ITA rankings that dropped on Wednesday, Virginia Tech's (4-4) doubles pair of Jordan Chrysostom and Ryan Fishback climbed to No. 17 in the country. The duo is 5-0 this season, including three ranked wins. Through eight matches this season, the Hokies have clinched the doubles point seven times.
Sophomore Ryan Fishback jumped up eight spots to No. 70 in the country after last weekend's 4-0 performance. Fishback, along with Alex IX Alberto Orso, Carlo Donato and Michael Shepheard each picked up three or more wins last weekend while going undefeated.
MTSU
The Blue Raiders (7-3) have faced three ACC opponents in their last five matches, defeating Louisville, while falling to Georgia Tch and Notre Dame.
On Court 1, MTSU has No. 60 Stijn Slump – a senior from Havelte, Netherlands. Slump has dropped three of seven matches this season, however two losses have come to top-25 opponents.
Last week, Fransisco Rocha was tabbed the Conference USA Athlete of the Week after going 2-0 against Notre Dame and Tennessee State, playing on Court 1 and Court 2.
VANDY
The Commodores (2-0) enter Sunday's contest with wins against Wisconsin and Lipscomb on their résumé.
Court 1 and Court 2 are claimed by No. 26 George Harwell and No. 94 Joubert Klopper. Harwell, a fifth-year player from Nashville, Tenn., was named the 2018 ITA Regional Rookie of the Year. Klopper, a junior from South Africa, has taken quite the leap in the lineup since last season after primarily playing on Court 6 last season.
