No. 8 Virginia Tech rallies for 3-2 walk-off win over Middle Tennessee

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- The No. 8 Virginia Tech Hokies rallied to score three in the seventh inning and walked it off on freshman Bre Peck's two-run home run off of senior Corrina Dodd to pick up the 3-2 win over Middle Tennessee Friday.

Freshman Emma Lemley (3-0) got the win out of the bullpen for Virginia Tech (6-1). The right-hander went 1.2 shutout innings without giving up a hit, posting one walk and striking out five. Sophomore Mackenzie Osborne started the ballgame and went 5.1 innings, surrendering two runs, both earned, on four hits, walking three and striking out two.

In the batter's box, the Hokies were led by Peck, who went 1-for-3 on the day with a home run and two RBIs. Sophomore Emma Ritter furnished a standout day at the dish as well, going 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI to start Tech's rally in the seventh.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Virginia Tech did not score until the bottom of the seventh, when they put up three runs trailing 2-0, walking it off on Peck's two-out two-run home run off of Dodd. Middle Tennessee plated both of its runs in the top of the sixth, scoring off a wild pitch and an RBI double
