Rochard's no-hitter leads No. 5 Virginia Tech over No. 22/20 UCF 1-0

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Senior Keely Rochard turned in a great performance on Sunday, tossing a no-hitter and striking out 14 to lead the No. 5 Virginia Tech Hokies past the No. 22/20 UCF Knights 1-0. This is Rochard's eighth career no-hitter and her first of the season. 

Rochard (14-2) added her 14th win of the season to her outstanding performance. The right-hander struck out 14 and walked one for Virginia Tech (26-3) on her way to the shutout.

In the batter's box, the Hokies were led by sophomore Emma Ritter, who went 1-for-2 on the day with a walk and an RBI.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Hokies took the lead for good in the first, scoring for the first and only time in the inning. Virginia Tech got an RBI single from Ritter, scoring junior Kelsey Brown from third base.
