GREENSBORO, N.C. – The ACC announced its Performers of the Week Tuesday afternoon, with the Hokies' men's 4x100m relay team of Kahleje "KJ" Tillmon, Torrence Walker, Kennedy Harrison, and Cole Beck earning Co-Men's Track Performer of the Week honors.
Running a blistering 39.14 seconds in the event at the Florida Relays, Tillmon, Walker, Harrison and Beck set a new school record for the Hokies, claimed the top spot in the ACC this season, and rank No. 5 in the NCAA so far this year. It's the fastest Tech has run the 4x100m in three years, their time breaking the all-time mark of 39.24 seconds set in 2019.
The recognition marks Tech's first award of the outdoor season after Hokies earned 13 Performer of the Week nods during the indoor season.
Up next for the Hokies is a trip to Knoxville, Tenn. for the Tennessee Relays. Both the sprints and throws groups will take the weekend off, as the distance, jumps, multis, and pole vault squads compete on the weekend.
