Tech travels to Knoxville for Tennessee Relays this weekend

BLACKSBURG – Hokies track & field continues to roll on in the outdoor season, after impressive results in Florida and North Carolina last weekend Tech travels to Knoxville, Tenn. to compete in the Tennessee Relays.
 
This weekend marks the first week of outdoor competition Hokies will all be competing at the same meet, as the distance, jumps, pole vault, and multis event groups will all travel to Knoxville, while the sprinters and throwers take the weekend off to train.
 
The three-day meet begins on Thursday with the decathlon before Hokies contest a full schedule of events Friday and Saturday. Live results will be provided by Adkins Trak Timing, and days two and three of the meet will be broadcast live on SEC+ Network.

ATHLETES TO WATCH
Hokies will contest the first full decathlon of the season, as Jake Spotswood and Sean Murphy look to post strong opening marks in the outdoor multi event.
 
Hannah Ballowe, Grace Boone, and Star Price, All-Americans indoors in the distance medley relay, will contest their first 800m of the outdoor campaign on Friday, while Seb Anthony leads a squad of four other Hokies in the men's edition of the event.
 
Several athletes will compete for the first time outdoors this season, as Antonio Lopez Segura opens in the 1500m, his first race since finishing sixth in the 3,000m at the NCAA Indoor Championships. Also opening will be Chauncey Chambers, the indoor All-American in the triple jump kicking off his outdoor season in the event on Saturday.
 
Tech has entered eight athletes across the men's and women's pole vault for this weekend, with both sections slated to take place on Saturday the Hokies will keep their eye on the weather and look to post solid results in the event.
