Hokies host Ohio State this weekend

BLACKSBURG – The Hokies will take on high ranking Ohio State on Oct. 28 & 29 in their second home meet of the season.

MEET INFORMATION:
Date/Time: October 28, 2022 | 5 p.m. / October 29, 2022 | 10 a.m.
Opponent: Ohio State
Location: Christiansburg Aquatic Center

"We're very excited to be able to have Ohio State here, one of the top teams in the country," head coach Sergio Lopez Miro said. "I have the utmost respect for Coach Bill of Ohio State, and I'm very thankful that he brought his team here to face against the Hokies. We still have a few people injured, so in some events we're going to have some challenges, but we're ready to fight the Hokie way."

Last season, both the men's and women's teams fell to Ohio State 207-105 & 225-136. The Hokies are ready to take on such a competitive Big Ten school this weekend.

This meet will be the Buckeyes first official meet of the season. In the CSCAA Division 1 Top 25 Dual Meet Rankings, the OSU women ranked fifth and the men ranked 12th, right behind the Hokie men at 11th place. Their women's team is the top-ranked Big 10 team and the men are second-ranked in the Big Ten. The Hokie women are also in the Top 25 at 24th place.

The Hokie men are taking momentum from their 199-127 win over Duke last weekend into this meet. The women fell short to Duke, 200.5-127.5, but are pumped to get back in the water and swim against a top team.
