Tech ringing in New Year at Southern Scuffle

BLACKSBURG – The No. 8 Virginia Tech wrestling team returns to action to ring in the New Year at the 2023 Southern Scuffle hosted by University of Tennessee-Chattanooga on January 1 and 2 at the McKenzie Arena in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Action begins at 10 a.m. EST on Sunday, January 1 and 11 a.m. EST on Monday, January 2 with streaming available with a Flowrestling subscription and live results via FloArena.

Hokies at the 2023 Southern Scuffle

Tech will be sending nine competitors south to Chattanooga for the 2023 Southern Scuffle to begin kick off the second-half of the season. The Hokies send a young squad led by veterans Collin Gerardi and Drew Nicholson to one of the country's most prestigious events to ring in the New Year. Making their season debuts are redshirt senior Jordan Florence and redshirt junior Kolton Clark for the Hokies. Entered into the mix are redshirt freshmen Cooper Flynn, Jackson Spires, and Ty Finn, redshirt sophomore Sam Fisher, and freshman TJ Stewart.
