Ramadan and Coll Marti both earn silver medals after day two

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Hokies finished off the second day of ACC's with more top 10 times and Carles Coll Marti earning a silver medal in the men's 200 IM and Youssef Ramadan also earning silver in the men's 50 free. 

HIGHLIGHTS

Women

To start off the second day of finals was the women's 200 free relay. The women placed 5th with a time of 1:28.68 swam by Madelyn Moore, Sarah Shackelford, Carmen Weiler Sastre, and Caroline Bentz. This marks the second fastest 200 free relay time in Virginia Tech history.

The women continued to fight as the 500 free was underway. Virginia Tech took fifth place by Emma Atkinson with a time of 4:40.62 and made the fourth top time in Tech history. Also swimming in the A-final, her teammate Chase Travis placed 8th with a time of 4:41.67.

Wrapping up the night, Izzi Mroz placed seventh in the women's 1-meter diving event. 

Men

The men's relays continue to impress. They started with a tough fight in the 200 free relay, where they placed fourth. They finished at 1:16.15 with Youssef Ramadan, Carles Coll Marti, Luis Dominguez and Mario Molla Yanes swimming the second fastest time in Hokie history. 

Coming in second place with a time of 1:41.02 was Coll Marti, earning his spot on the podium in the 200 IM. 

Finishing the men's portion of the night was Youssef Ramadan earning silver in the 50 free with a time of 18.82.
