BLACKSBURG – In an effort to earn its second win in college basketball's most recognizable venue, Virginia Tech travels to Cameron Indoor Stadium on Saturday night for a matchup with Duke. Wes Durham and Debbie Antonelli will be on the call at 8 p.m. for ESPN, while Zach Mackey and Mike Burnop will provide coverage for the Virginia Tech Sports Network.

SCOUTING THE BLUE DEVILS

  • In the midst of a three-game win streak, Duke sits just 2.5 games behind the ACC's top spot.
  • The Blue Devils are led by eight-time ACC Freshman of the Week Kyle Filipowski. He's the only rookie in the country averaging 15+ points and 9+ rebounds this season.
  • In the first meeting this season, Tech used a hot shooting performance (57.1% from the field, 52.6% from three) to outlast Duke, 78-75.

The Series

  • The Hokies trail in the all-time series, 51-13. However, they have won three of the previous four meetings with Duke, including the 2022 ACC championship game, 82-67, in Brooklyn, N.Y. 
  • Tech has only won once at Cameron Indoor Stadium, a 69-67 decision in overtime on Jan. 6, 2007. 
  • Behind Grant Basile's 24 points and MJ Collins' jumper with 13 seconds to go, the Hokies edged Duke, 78-75, in this season's first meeting on Jan. 23 in Blacksburg. 
  • Mike Young is 3-3 against Duke as head coach of the Hokies. 

HOKIE HEADLINES

  • Grant Basile has scored double figures in 12 straight games. He has broken the 20-point mark in six of the last nine contests. 
  • Over the last nine games, Basile is averaging 22.4 points per game. Basile is one of three ACC players averaging at least 18 points per game in conference play. 
  • Basile (eighth) and Sean Pedulla (15th) give the Hokies two of the top 15 scorers in the ACC. 
  • Hunter Cattoor is first in the league in 3FG% at 43.8% (64-146). He went 5 for 10 from beyond the arc against Miami en route to his 1,000th career point. 

HUNT HITS 1K AGAINST MIAMI

  • Hunter Cattoor became the 50th member of the 1,000-point club in program history Tuesday night vs. Miami. 
  • He entered the game three points shy of the 1,000-point mark. Cattoor drilled a left wing three at the 13:16 mark of the first half off an assist from Sean Pedulla. 
  • Cattoor finished with five treys for the game – his fifth game of at least four triples on the season. 
  • For his career, 74.1% of Cattoor's field-goal attempts are from three. He's shot above 40% from long range in each of his four seasons in college, including a season-best 43.8% this season. The Orlando, Fla., native ranks third all-time at Tech for career 3-point percentage.
