CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Virginia Tech quarterback Kyron Drones and cornerback Dorian Strong have earned ACC Player of the Week honors for their efforts in Saturday's 48-22 win over Boston College.
Drones (6-2, 234) is the ACC Quarterback of the Week. The Pearland, Texas native completed 12 of 17 passes for 219 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed 20 times for 135 yards, giving him 354 yards of offense.
It marks the second ACC Player of the Week recognition for the redshirt sophomore this season.
Strong (6-0, 182) registered two interceptions against the Eagles on his way to ACC Defensive Back of the Week honors. The redshirt junior did not allow a completion on three targets.
The Hokies return home to a sold-out Lane Stadium to host N.C. State on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. on Senior Day.
